JORDAN CARVER

It is good people who make good places.

Jordan spent many years backpacking abroad, traveling to over 50 countries, after graduating from UCI with a degree in English. During that time, he picked up odd jobs in hostels, dive shops, and construction, as well as teaching English in Japan and South Korea. Upon returning to the States, he jumped into Marketing – promoting youth mentorship and lobbying in D.C. Next, he moved into marketing and business development consulting for the photonics and laser industry, most notably working with SLDLaser (Physics Nobel Prize winner 2014, Shuji Nakamura). Ultimately, Jordan’s core passion was Gaming, and he decided to make a move to work in the industry.

At Riot Games, he joined as a Recruiting Coordinator and was moved quickly into a full-cycle recruiting role focused on software engineering roles related to infrastructure, operations, data, and the Riot platform. Jordan helped build out Riot’s current data group, hiring various engineers, architects, engineering managers, and Riot’s current Head of Data. He later expanded into hiring game producers for League of Legends, TFT, and Wild Rift, as well as senior HR business partners across the company.

Jordan was promoted to a Manager role, overseeing the recruiting team supporting all things League of Legends. During this time, he managed and ensured the success of the Teamfight Tactics launch (both PC and mobile) in 2019, the League of Legends 10 year anniversary in 2019, and the launch of League of Legends: Wild Rift in 2020. He was responsible for consulting with product owners and stakeholders, as well as partnering on forecasting and workforce planning for the coming years.

Jordan then took on a Talent Acquisition Ops Manager role. During his time in the role, he managed key programs such as Riot’s interviewer training, Senior Leadership Interviewer program (similar to “Bar Raisers”), and interview kit development. He additionally built new critical functions at Riot such as an Internal Mobility recruiting team, a Tableau reporting suite, a headcount forecasting model, and recruiter/contractor onboarding.
