Rachel Long

Making the right hire is the key to a company's success and an employee's happiness; I truly love the impact I get to have on both sides of that fence

Being from a small town in Ohio and a Buckeye fan from the start, it was very clear where Rachel would begin her journey.  She graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and started her career with a focus on business development, people management, and overall business operations.

As Rachel’s professional career began to grow, she partnered with a local renovation company where she established the commercial side of their business.  By initiating and growing relationships with new clients, Rachel was able to almost double the company’s annual revenue within one year.  She oversaw both account partnerships and recruitment and this is where her love for talent acquisition truly began.  It was at this point where she decided to pursue her passion for recruiting in a full-time capacity, which led her into the tech recruiting space.

Rachel joined a technical recruitment agency as a Senior Technical Recruiter where she focused her efforts on finding top talent for a large variety of clients.  She built relationships with candidates (developers, business analysts, project managers, engineers) across the United States to assist them in finding their next exciting adventure, whether that be on a contract, consulting, or full-time basis.

After years of focus on technical recruitment, Rachel was offered an opportunity to join Evil Geniuses (EG); a legacy esports team focused on competing in games such as League of Legends, Dota 2, CS:GO, and VALORANT.  As the Recruitment Lead, she not only built the Talent Acquisition department, processes and best practices from the ground up, but she was also solely responsible for recruiting all positions within the organization whether that be in Gaming, Tech, Partnerships, Marketing, HR, or Finance.  In addition, she also partnered with the Director of Esports to create Evil Geniuses’ first ever collegiate internship programs.  Finally, Rachel was promoted to People Team Leader where she oversaw not only the Recruitment function but also all HR operations for EG inclusive of compensation analysis, performance reviews, onboarding, and employee relations.

The opportunity Rachel has to make a difference in individuals’ lives while helping to solve business needs is at the core of everything she does.  She is passionate about building relationships with the best of the best and finding the perfect match for both the candidate and the client.
